Frightened Moment

My frightened moment, there was a place called Bambu Apus, Bekasi, the place was famous for the “Flat-Face Ghost”. It is said there was a man murdered, and the killer dragged his dead body with his face facing downward to the ground. But actually it’s not the Flat-Face Ghost that frightened me. One day at 9 pm, I went to the wedding reception of my friend’s brother. We wanted to go with style, Me and my friend looked for my girlfriend's car. Unfortunately, it was borrow by her parents to a wedding reception either. And she accompanied her parents, I was about to asked her out. But fate said other way. So we used public service vehicle called Angkot, we’re so full with the food, but we didn’t realize that our pocket was empty. We didn’t have a single penny to came home, its already 10.30 pm. But fortunately there’s a pickup car, we ordered that car to pull over. And the driver stop by, ‘thank god’ I said in my heart. My friend decided to sit with the driver while sit on the back with some boxes yet its cool because it’s open air. It’s pick up you know, as the car went. I didn’t notice that we will pass the Bambu Apus. I just sit and enjoyed the wind of the night. Then suddenly I heard a girl laughed at me, so loud it felt like she laughed directly on my ear “Hihihihi”. I was shock and almost jumped from the pickup, so I knocked the door. “Hey, let me in!” the car stopped and I hurried to get in the car “What’s wrong son?” said the driver. “I heard a girl laughed at me, it was so loud. It terrified me”. “Did you realize where we are son?” said the driver with a terrifying smile. Now we both terrified. “We are in Bambu Apus son, but I’m confused why the Kuntilanak laughed at you instead of the Flat-Face Ghost pull a pranked at you? I’m sure you knew this place famous for that, just take a look at that trees and dimmed light” I almost wanted to grab that old man shirt and punch his freaking horrible face and tell “Hurried you fucking old man, I’ll kill you if you don’t start the engine and drive now!” but he felt like he read my mind and started the engine and drove through the jungle-like place. We made home at 11pm, thanks to my Dad that he haven’t slept yet. I told him about that frightening moment. But he only laughed and said ”That Kuntilanak was amuse by your good-looking, you’re lucky she only laughed, if only she’ll asked you out? That would be great, right! Hahahahaha” I knew it’s kind of funny but it’s terrifying, absolutely heart-stopping moment.

Happy Moment

My happiest moment, When I raced with my brother on the street of Jakarta, it felt like a gap between heaven and earth was so close. The faster I went, the more peace I gained, my brother rode a Honda NSR while I rode my Suzuki Raider. Even though I knew that I’d never be able to catch him with his 2-stroke devil engine. I still enjoyed it, because I could tailed him. Well at least I didn’t lose him on my sight, the greatest moment was in cornering, my brother’s right leg coming out when approaching right turn. He leaned his body as he entered the turn then pushed throttle hard. That was wicked cool, so I followed him. Of course, with his way. That right leg coming out moves was actually “The Doctor” Valentino Rossi’s signature moves. Imagine, logically. When we’re about to enter a turn, we used our right leg to hit the brake pedal to brake the rear wheel, right? On the contrary, The Doctor didn’t use the pedal brake. Actually right leg coming out moves was also made the weight shifted to the right rapidly. So was it for taunt or shifting weight? I could say both could be the answer. And also when there’s a long straight road, what did we do? Of course, full throttle to the end. Then tucked in behind the bike’s fairing, unfortunately Raider didn’t have a windscreen. But I did still tuck in, but then. I got left behind, the more I pulled the throttle, the farther the gap between us. The last moment was on the red light, we always called it as a “red light shooter”. Because when the countdown number on the red light went to number 3, we’ve already pull the throttle hard. When it went green, we’ve gone like the wind. And again, I was behind my brother. Although I always got smoked, I enjoyed the beautiful-smooth and Rossi-like riding of my brother. I’ve missed you brother, I look forward to race with you. And with 69 Dax the Lunatic yet awesome mechanic, not to forget the Nova Sonic rider.

Honda NSR 150 SP Specs

94K - Click for full size imageThis is the Thai Honda NSR 150 SP. It comes standard in Repsol Racing colors. The SP was built with winning the ASEAN Cup in mind as well as being the ultimate 150 cc bike in Thailand plus other East Asian countries. Power is up by 2.5 horsepower compared with the RR model. This bike is the King of the Road in Thailand for 150 cc bikes.
One of the most noticeable differences between the SP and the RR are the rear swingarm suspension. The SP has the cool looking PRO ARM similar to the MC28 NSR 250. Plus the rear tire size is slightly larger. Also the chamber and silencer have been revised for a improvement in performance while not effecting emissions.NSR 150 SP Pro-Arm - 53K for full size
NSR 150 SP - 59K for full sizeThe test rider was amazed with the feeling of the bike. His comments were " This bike is for real ! It's brakes and suspension do exactly what you want them to do ! The sound of the engine and the pipe are true two stroke happiness ! Top speed is nearly 200 km/h !! " The actual top speed is much more closer to 180km/h. These were the comments of the test rider.
The oil tank holds 1.5 liters and requires the removal of the rear tandem seat cushion to reach the lever on the bottom of the side to open up the oil tank.Seat cushion removed - 58K for full size
Meter panel - 41K click for full sizeThe meters offer a clear view with the large centered tachometer and the speedometer reads up to 240 km/h plus. A temperature gauge keeps you informed before any over heating problems occur.
The bodywork of the SP is the same as the RR. The only difference being the Repsol colors. Now in Japan, two stroke motorcycles over 50 cc in displacement have been discontinued. Recently a few of these Thai SP models have been showing up in bike shops throughout Japan. Their price between 420,000 Yen to 430,000.NSR 150 SP - 73K for full size view

How to corner with your bike

Riding a motorcycle is an inexpensive and fun way to get from Point A to Point B. The best way to learn how to ride and corner a motorcycle is by hands-on experience. Once you have learned the basics of operating the bike, you will become more confident in riding it in all types of circumstances. Sweeping corners are fun, but there are things you need to know before you go laying through a curve or corner.

Sweeping Curves or Corners
  1. Approach the curve at a steady speed. Pay attention to the speed limit signs that are posted before the corner or curve. Slow down to the appropriate speed before you reach the curve or corner.
  2. Enter the curve with a gradual tilt of the motorcycle.Sweeping curves do not require you to turn the handlebars. Lean the motorcycle gently in the direction the curve is going. Keep the throttle steady as you go through the curve.
  3. Do not apply the brakes while you are leaning through a curve or corner. Applying the brakes will make the motorcycle stand up or slide, and may cause you to run off the road.
  4. Do not give the motorcycle more gas while you are in a leaning position. Opening the throttle will also either cause the motorcycle to stand up, or the rear wheel may loose traction and cause you to slide.  Only apply more gas to increase your speed when you are out of the curve and the motorcycle is standing straight up.
Cornering from a Stop
  1. Making a right or left turn from a stopped position requires you to turn the handlebars. Start the bike moving from the stop sign in a straight line. Slowly turn the handlebars in the direction of the turn you are making. Avoid turning the handlebars sharply. Sweep as wide as possible to complete your turn.
  2. Practice the different turns at a slow steady speed to understand how the motorcycle corners. Each motorcycle will feel and handle different. The type of tires will cause them to feel different than another motorcycle.  If you are new to motorcycle riding always ride with another motorcyclist. Make sure they are aware of the fact that you are a new rider. They will adjust their riding style to accommodate you.

Warning:
Never try to sweep through corners or curves like an experienced rider. Get the feel of the motorcycle first. Experience is the best teacher.

So how do you ride through a corner?

In de flow...

Sometimes, everything seems to fit together. Without being aware what you are doing, you choose the ideal line, you instinctively feel how every corner will behave, and you ride with the right speed, in the right gear, without thinking with hindsight that you could have had a higher speed, and you never get the upsetting thought that your speed is too high for the corner.

Practise conciously

Counterintuitively, you get in the flow most easily when you also try, from time to time, to be really conscious of what you do when cornering.
In cornering, everything is important: how you look through the corner in advance, how you plan your line, hou you sit on the motorcycle, how you start the corner, how you use the throttle and how you shift, how you brake in advance, and sometimes, unfortunately, how you brake or swerve in the corner itself.
Of course, reading alone will not make you better in cornering: you will have to practise, and learn to feel what happens.
But reading about cornering may help you there....
